Buddha Producing | 佛像生产

There are some products sold in UK with Buddha's image on them and I think this stems from a desire to produce an exotic oriental style. Buddhism believes that Buddhas have many avatars. I wondered whether they can be seen as avatars to some extent? A Buddha on a flower pot or sock is still a powerful religious presence? I use the printer as a metaphor for the act of consumerist production. And repetition of this single clip emphasizes mass production as well as the assembly line style of creation. This work may also be seen as an ironic commentary on this phenomenon.
