Sea World | 海上世界

This film traces the urbanization of Shekou, Shenzhen through a reflection that moves between history and the present. The first half of the film follows the perspective from the summit of Microwave Hill, observing the land reclamation that took place in Shekou after the Reform and Opening period. Through the oral recollections of Mr.Deng, a resident of Nanshui Village, together with archival materials from the corresponding periods, the film presents the historical and geographical transformations of Shekou over nearly half a century. The second half continues this thread of oral memory and shifts its focus to present-day Shekou, observing and exploring its constantly changing urban landscape through a quiet and slow-paced gaze.
